This beautiful chocolate lab, who is believed to be about eight years old, was saved from a hoarder. Seized along with 13 other dogs from a home in Barnwell, S.C., Randy is the only one of the 14 that wasn’t euthanized.

The woman whose home Randy was saved from has a record of hoarding and animal abuse. A South Carolina officer had previously found 50 dogs on her property. They were living in stacked crates that were filled with waste.

Randy was found to have a stick lodged in the roof of his mouth. Under the care of our partners Home for Good Dog Rescue, the stick was removed, he has been treated for heartworm and has been neutered. He is also getting dental work to repair the damage in his mouth.

Tess McIntyre Foundation is sponsoring Randy to help pay the costs of his medical care. Once healthy, he will be transported from HFG’s Aiken, S.C., care facility to New Jersey where he will be placed in a foster home waiting for adoption.

Home for Good Dog Rescue, based in Berkeley Heights, N.J., has saved more than 6,500 dogs in its eight years of existence. The Tess McIntyre Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity, regularly sponsors rescued dogs, providing support to help with the medical care for some of HFG’s neediest cases.
