and his beloved dog Tess.

THIS IS THE STORY OF DENVER THE DOG

Denver the dog

Denver is a five-year-old husky. He has just undergone eye surgery, ear surgery, dental work and a regimen of antibiotics. All because he was the victim of unfathomable abuse. When asked by our partners Home for Good Dog Rescue we jumped at the opportunity to donate to sponsor Denver and to be a part of his recovery.

Recovery is exactly what Denver is doing. He was found as a stray by one of Home for Good's rescue contacts is Screven County, Ga. They moved him to their care facility in Aiken, S.C. What they found was a dog whose eyes had been glued shut, his ears were cut and ear canals punctured. His tail had been glued in a curved position and his front teeth were worn down apparently from trying to chew away at the chain he was held on.

But Denver, who one of his caretakers in Aiken described as “a very sweet boy who is very forgiving,” still has his vision and his hearing. What he doesn’t have is his coat, due to severe mange. But with the care he is receiving at Aiken that will be growing back and before too long he will be a healthy young guy headed to New Jersey for adoption. No one deserves a loving home more than Denver.
