Luna is probably two years old. When our partners Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue (SCGRR) pulled her from the shelter where she had been surrendered, she was 24 pounds. She should be 50.
Luna had Exocrine Pancreatic Deficiency which affected the way her body absorbed nutrients. She also had a bacterial overload in her stomach.
We are supporting Luna by providing funding to help offset the costs of her treatments. She is getting Vitamin B12 to treat the bacterial overload and a pancreatic absorbent powder to help her properly digest and absorb nutrients.
After a few days in the hospital, Luna moved in with a SCGRR foster family. Her foster mom describes her as a sweet, loving dog who likes to play ball. So far she has gained two pounds. Right now, she’s eating five times a day, every four hours. We look forward to seeing Luna in full health and ready to be adopted into her forever home.
