Kaiya - Saved from a Puppy Mill

Kaiya was rescued from a puppy mill by our partners at Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies. She is suffering from some genetic conditions that are frequently encountered with puppy mills due to poor breeding conditions.

Kaiya is incontinent. This is a result of a tilted bladder caused by having too short a ureter. She also has a hooded vulva which will lead to continual urinary tract infections.

Kaiya is being treated at the Colorado State University Veterinary Hospital. She is scheduled to have two surgeries to correct these conditions. Her veterinarians believe her conditions can be corrected and she will lead a normal life.

The Tess McIntyre Foundation is sponsoring Kaiya and has made a donation to help offset the costs of her medical care.
