Hayden

Hayden the dog

Hayden was rescued from a breeder in Missouri by our partners Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR). He appeared to have a problem with his hind legs and one eye was cloudy, likely why the breeder had no more use for him.

Hayden is only one, but it seems doubtful that he ever had the opportunity to run around outside and play like a normal puppy. The GRRR volunteers who picked him up had to carry him out of the breeding facility because he was so scared and he didn’t move out of the crate during the entire 12-hour trip to Colorado.

Hayden was diagnosed with an exterior luxating patella which means the kneecap in one of his hind legs moves out of place. His eye condition is genetic and he will always be blind in one eye.

We are sponsoring Hayden to help with the cost of the surgery to correct his kneecap. That surgery has already been performed and he is recovering.

We’re told by our friends at GRRR that “it has become so heartwarming to watch him become such a lovable, happy, goofy Golden boy. He doesn’t have an aggressive bond in his body and just loves everyone he meets -- both people and dogs.”
