Flossy arrived from Mexico with a limp. She was rescued by our partners Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue (SCGRR). A visit to the vet and some X-rays showed a fractured radius and ulna in one of her front legs. It’s likely that Flossy had been hit by a car.
Flossy was operated on, with a metal plate implanted to realign her leg and was fitted with a splint. The prescription for Flossy was limited physical activity. This is a playful one year old puppy so you can imagine that challenge for the SCGRR foster family who took her in.
The Tess McIntyre Foundation is sponsoring Flossy and has made a contribution to offset the costs of her operation and care.
It has now been six weeks since the surgery. The splinted bandage has been removed. The fracture has healed and Flossy is now working on rebuilding the strength in her leg muscles.
We are happy to have been able to help with the cost of getting this girl back up and running. Our donors have made that possible.
